If adverbs are used well, I never notice them.
If they paradoxically and abruptly appear unceremoniously, I rapidly begin to get increasingly annoyed parenthetically.
Genres I would never write in: Horror or serious crime. Too grim. There's enough terrible stuff in life. I don't need to make up more.
